so who am i exactly? And how do I know i can help you?
I’m on a mission to help women free their bodies from the pain of dieting and negative body image, and lead them to a life of freedom, balance, and joy around eating and fitness.
I know how you feel.
You are tired of counting carbs or tracking points, making yourself crazy over food. And this isn’t to say that you can’t track in some form or another if it helps you on your journey, especially if you have fitness goals. I will still sometimes write down what I’m eating so that I can pinpoint whether I’m being mindless around food - eating a few bites of food here and there isn’t “bad”, but if you’re doing it consistently and aren’t even aware, and you’re being careless with how you’re treating yourself, writing down what you eat can really help.
You’re tired of “falling off track” and starting back over again on Monday, only to “mess up” before Monday is even over, and telling yourself you’re a failure.
You’ve tried every diet on the planet and are still frustrated with your weight, body, and food habits.
You have absolutely no motivation to exercise or feel intimidated going into a gym.
You are constantly looking in the mirror and thinking the most horrible thoughts about your body and can’t seem to stop.
You hear everyone saying that you need to love yourself, but you honestly don’t really know how or where to begin.
You binge in secret and overeat instead of dealing with your emotions. Food sometimes seems more comforting than anything else, and you use it as a form of punishment towards yourself and how you feel about your body.
I have done all of these things and more.
And I am here to tell you that there IS freedom on the other side.
You can learn to love yourself.
You can learn to find a form of exercise that works for YOU and that helps you to feel empowered, strong, and healthy.
You can learn to eat healthy, without wanting to binge or overeat, and no, healthy does not mean a diet (the urge to binge still comes up from time to time for me. I’m not going to lie to you and tell you that it magically goes away, and I think that’s important to recognize. I just use it as an opportunity to witness what’s going on with me - why is the urge coming up? Am I making really great progress with my fitness & eating habits, but trying to sabotage my efforts? There is always something deeper going on).
You can learn to look at your body and not allow yourself be affected by horrible, negative thoughts about it (and yes, they may still occur from time to time, but they will begin to happen less and less).
I know because I have managed to get to this point on my health journey after over 30 years of struggling in body image diet hell, when I never thought I’d truly be free.
The key is learning to love yourself through the process, and shifting your entire perception from a place of fear to the love that’s already within you, and will help you get to a place of freedom.
